Dental emergencies do not wait for a convenient time. Whether you have woken up with severe toothache, broken a tooth, knocked one out or lost a filling, do not search the internet and do not wait. Call Novadent immediately. We keep same-day emergency slots available Monday to Saturday and will advise you over the phone while we get you in.
A dental emergency is any situation involving severe pain, uncontrolled bleeding, dental trauma or sudden significant damage to a tooth. If you are questioning whether your situation qualifies as an emergency, it almost certainly does. Call us. We would rather you call and be reassured than wait with a problem that worsens by the hour.
We keep dedicated same-day emergency slots available every day we are open. When you call, we will advise you immediately over the phone on what to do before you arrive, so the right steps are being taken from the moment you contact us.
When in doubt, call us. We will advise you immediately over the phone on what to do before you arrive.
These steps can reduce pain and prevent further damage while you make your way to us. Read the one that applies to your situation, then call us.
When you arrive for an emergency appointment at Novadent, the priority is to see you as quickly as possible. We do not ask you to fill in lengthy forms before being seen. We move directly to assessment and treatment.
Your journey starts with a free consultation. We examine your teeth and gums, take digital X-rays, assess your jawbone density and talk through exactly what you want. If implants are right for you, we give you a full treatment plan and a detailed cost breakdown before you commit to anything.
We examine the affected tooth or area, take a targeted X-ray if needed, and identify the cause of the problem. We explain clearly what has happened, what the treatment options are and what each involves. Full cost transparency is provided before any treatment is agreed. There are no surprises on the bill.
Wherever possible, we resolve the problem completely in the same appointment. This may mean draining and treating an abscess, extracting a tooth that cannot be saved, placing a temporary or permanent filling, or re-cementing a crown. Where a full resolution requires a follow-up appointment because of complexity or healing time, we manage your pain and protect the tooth before you leave so you are not in the same state you arrived in.
We give you written aftercare instructions before you leave, prescribe antibiotics or pain relief where clinically indicated, and schedule any follow-up appointments required to complete the treatment. We do not discharge you without being confident you understand exactly what has been done, what to expect in the coming days and when to come back. If you experience anything unexpected after leaving, call us.

Honest answers to the questions we hear most when patients call in pain or panic.
We keep same-day emergency slots available every day we are open. If you call before 10am, we can almost always see you the same morning. The earlier you call, the more likely we are to have a slot that suits you. When you call, we will give you an appointment time immediately and advise you over the phone on what to do until you arrive. If you are in severe pain outside our working hours (Monday to Friday 8am to 6pm, Saturday 9am to 4pm), go to the nearest hospital emergency room for pain management and call us first thing when we open.
Yes, always. A dental abscess is a bacterial infection inside the tooth or surrounding gum tissue. The infection can spread to surrounding bone, soft tissue in the neck and in serious cases the airway. Abscesses do not resolve on their own. They get worse. Do not wait hoping the pain will settle. Call us immediately. If you already have facial swelling that is spreading, fever or any difficulty breathing or swallowing, do not wait to call us at all. Go directly to the nearest hospital emergency room.
Sometimes yes, and the window is very short. The best outcomes happen when the tooth is reimplanted within 30 minutes of being knocked out. After 60 minutes the likelihood of successful reimplantation drops significantly. Follow the first aid steps above (handle by the crown, rinse gently with milk or saline, replace in socket or store in milk), call us ahead so we are prepared, and get to us as fast as possible. We will do everything we can, but time is the factor that determines whether the tooth can be saved.
Yes. We accept emergency appointments from new patients without any prior relationship with Novadent. You do not need a referral, you do not need an existing patient record and you do not need to have booked with us before. Call us, explain your situation and we will get you in as soon as we have a slot. If you become a regular patient afterwards, that is entirely up to you.
We are closed on Sundays. If you experience a dental emergency on a Sunday, go to the nearest hospital emergency room for pain management and antibiotics if needed, and call us first thing Monday morning at 8am. If the emergency involves a knocked-out tooth, a spreading abscess with facial swelling, difficulty breathing or a high fever, go directly to the hospital emergency room regardless of the day of the week. These situations require immediate medical attention that does not wait for a dentist to open.
We will always tell you the full cost of any treatment before we begin. For emergency appointments, our priority is to resolve your pain and protect the tooth in the same appointment. We then discuss the complete treatment plan and any remaining costs at a follow-up visit, giving you time to plan. We do not withhold pain relief or emergency care for financial reasons. Come in, let us deal with the immediate problem, and we will discuss the rest when you are no longer in pain.
